1. Please claim using your team name. (If you've forgotten your team name, it will be in your initial team email.) Only one team member needs to claim per team so please get in touch with each other and claim a date. In case your fic has been claimed by more than one artist please make sure to have one masterpost up with links to both artists works.

2. There will be a maximum of two claims allowed per date.

3. Unless you've determined otherwise with one of the mods, every team needs to claim one of these dates, so make sure you've coordinated with your partner!

5. Please make sure to post on your assigned date! We understand that things can happen that are out of your control, but your chosen date is it. Contact us if any unforeseen problems come up and don’t just vanish, please.

Welcome to the second round of summary claims for the 2015 Cap-IM Big Bang!

All rules, deadlines, et cetera can be found in the post for the first round of claims. These are the same stories as the first round, and the same rules and deadlines apply. This is a chance for more artists to produce art for the existing stories.

At this time we are NOT allowing second claims by artists who have previously claimed a story; depending on the speed with which the stories are claimed, we may allow double-claims from artists
As everyone had a fair chance to claim a fic now, we are opening the second claims post for everyone. Artists who already claimed a story, but want to claim a second one, now have the option to do so!

This is the CLAIMS phase of the Big Bang and where the artists come in! 22 drafts have been submitted and are awaiting artists to claim them. By claiming a story, you assert that you will collaborate with your author(s) to produce custom artwork to accompany their story when posting begins November 5th. You do not need to be a member of the cap_ironman comm or have a LJ account to make your claim. Anonymous comments on this post are enabled. (Commenting will open when the claiming phase begins.)

Your schedule:
September 26th: Summaries open for artists to claim
October: Artists art, writers put finishing touches on their fics
November 1st: Artist and author teams pick posting date in November
November 5th: Fics and art begin posting

Acceptable art includes traditional art, digital art, and fanvids. Manips and fanmixes are not allowed for this Big Bang. For fanvids, the footage should match the fic canon, and the video should be at least 1min long.

To claim a summary on Saturday the 26th, you will need to leave a comment with the following information:

Three options are required; however, you may include more if you wish. Claims will be made on a first-come-first-serve basis and you will be assigned one of your claims that is still available.

When matching is complete, we will send out e-mails to hook up artists with their authors, along with further instructions. Please wait until you have received this e-mail before contacting your partner. It will be your responsibility to open communications with your team members and keep in touch for the duration of the collaboration.

If all stories are claimed quickly, a second round of claims may open.

A word about warnings: Many of these stories include bad language, substance abuse, sexual situations, violence, etc. We limited warnings here to the big stuff. If you have a specific concern and would like the mods to vet a story draft before you make your choices, please let us know at cap.im.events@gmail.com.

At this stage, please send any questions or things that need our attention to the comment section of this post unless we've made a mistake with your summary. In that case, please use email to preserve your (semi)-anonymity!

Rough drafts for the Captain America/Iron Man Big Bang 2015are due by 11:59 pm PDT on Wednesday, September 23rd. Summaries will be posted for preview sometime on the 24th (we expect it to go up in the evening at the latest), and claims will open on the following Saturday (26th). Claims will be filled in the order received.

If you think you’re not going to make it, that’s okay. It happens. In that case simply do nothing, because you are only irrevocably signed-up if you actually send in your draft before the 23rd. If you've indicated interest before you can send us an e-mail about dropping out if you really want, but if we don’t receive a draft from you then we’ll simply assume you’re not participating this year for whatever reason and will be looking forward to seeing you around these parts again next year!

the draft submission:

To officially enter the 2015 Big Bang, you must submit a draft. Drafts must be mostly complete, including an ending. We need 80%, or roughly 20k of the required 25k word count. It is okay if you have skeleton scenes or bits that still exist in outline form, but the majority of your draft needs to be prose. Remember, your artist will read and work from your draft, along with your input and needs something to go on.

The draft does not have to be beta read at this stage. We only expect a rough draft that you are still working on. We do encourage authors to have their stories beta read before posting though, so it might be a good time to check out our list of active beta readers or try and find someone in chat.

You do not need a title at this time. Titles won’t be used in the claiming process.

To submit your draft, email us at cap.im.events@gmail.com and write “ROUGH DRAFT” and the username you want to sign up with into the subject line. Don’t forget to attach your draft file. We prefer .ODT, .DOC, .DOCX, .GDOC and .RTF format, but we can handle just about anything. Please also name your draft file to include your username.

In the body of your e-mail, include the following information and keep the included html intact:

Please keep the length of your summary to 200 words or less. It can be as detailed or spoilery as you like. Be honest and straightforward; artist claims will be based entirely on summaries.

Make sure to be clear and thorough about trigger warnings so that artists will know what they are signing up for. You must put any and all warnings in this version of your summary, even if you choose to use an "author chooses not to warn" label later. We don't want anyone to be unhappy with the match, so please warn for noncon, dubcon, excessive or graphic violence, underage sex, incest, character death, or anything else that might be potentially problematic for a reader.

If you’re unsure how to write a good summary for the matching, the folks over at marvel_bang have some helpful advice here.

For long term accessibility reasons we require the finished fic be hosted on Ao3 (probably the most convenient) or LJ/DW. If you need to make an Ao3 account, please request an invite here and keep in mind that it might take a few days for you to get it and be able to create the account. You do not need a Livejournal to sign-up for this Big Bang, but if you want to host your fic here or on Dreamwidth, account creation is easy adn can be done instantly.

More information on posting details will follow closer to the end of the writing and arting phase.
