Date claims are live!

Cap-IM Big Bang date claims are coming—it's time for you to decide on a posting date!

Date claims will open on Saturday, October 23, 15:00 ET (what time is this for me? | countdown) and close on October 25 at 15:00 ET.

Remember that if no one on your team is available to claim a date, you can ask someone else to proxy-claim for you.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • By claiming a posting date, you are committing to having your work complete and ready for posting by the date you have picked; this counts as your check in for the BB. If your team does not claim a date by October 25, 15:00 EDT or email the mods prior to claims, we will assign your team to a posting date.

  • If no team member is able to submit your date claims on behalf of the team, please use a proxy to submit a claim on your behalf. If you can't find a proxy, please email the mods at cap.im.events@gmail.com and we'll help find one.

  • By submitting a claim, your team is committing to publishing your works on any of the dates chosen. If you believe you won't be able to finish your work by next month, please communicate your concerns with your partner(s) and the mods as soon as possible. You can find all extension information in our Posting Instructions post.

  • If you have any special requests, please email cap.im.events@gmail.com as soon as possible so we can try to accommodate you (please note that we cannot guarantee anything, and will consider requests on a first-come, first-serve basis).

  • Incomplete works, failure to meet the deadline, or a complete lack of communication with your team on and after your posting date will result in a participant's temporary ban from some [community profile] cap_ironman events — for further details, read through our Defaulting and Participation Eligibility guidelines.

HOW TO CLAIM YOUR DATE

Thirty posting dates are available from November 1 to November 30. Only one team will be posting on any given day so that your Stevetony content is staggered for people to enjoy!

Before choosing the posting dates you will list, please make sure it will work for everyone on the team.

You are required to have every team member's BB works posted on your confirmed posting date by noon ET so that you can send the mods the masterpost information on time.

You can stagger posting times so that they suit your timezones — works don't have to be posted at exactly the same time — but all works need to be posted by the deadline.

Posting date claims will be run via a Google Form on a first come, first-served basis.
  • The Date Claims Form is linked here, as is the live claims spreadsheet that will show the claims happening real-time. The form will only open when date claims start, but you can access the link beforehand.

  • Your posting team is determined by the artist's CODENAME as given to you in the RBB matching email.

  • The person claiming on behalf of a team needs to know their CODENAME and 3-5 posting dates to list in order of preference.

  • Posting dates will be allocated in the order that forms are received.

  • Teams that submit forms where all dates listed have already been picked will be asked to resubmit.

Remember, only one person claims on behalf of their team.

Please find the Posting Date Claims Form here. It will open on Saturday October 23, 15:00 EDT (what time is this for me?) and close on Monday October 25, 15:00 EDT.

Please find the spreadsheet for viewing live claims here.

All teams will be emailed their finalised posting date after everyone has claimed, along with more information about posting.

The Cap-IM Big Bang Date Claims are coming—it's time for you to decide on a posting date! Come back to this post to claim your date on Saturday, October 26th at 17:00 EDT (what time is this for me?).

Date claims will run differently from last year's challenge. We listened to the comm's informal feedback last year after trying something new, and are returning to our usual form of coordinating date claims.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

By claiming a posting date, you are committing to having your work complete and ready for posting by the date you have picked; this counts as your check in for the BB. If your team does not claim a date by October 28th, 17:00 EDT, we'll assume your team can reasonably post on any date, and will assign your team to a date accordingly.

We will not grant any pre-emptive extension requests at this time. Extensions will be considered only after posting dates are claimed. We strongly encourage all participants to meet their posting deadline, and only ask for an extension as a final resort. If you believe you won't be able to finish your work by next month, please communicate your concerns with your partner(s) and the mods as soon as possible.

Incomplete works, failure to meet the deadline, or a complete lack of communication on and after your posting date will result in a ban. Bans are done individually and not as a team; participants who have completed their event work will not be held responsible for the actions of their partner(s). For further details on bans, read through the Defaulting and Participation Eligibility policies.

HOW TO CLAIM YOUR DATE

30 posting dates are available from November 1 to November 30. Only one team will be posting on any given day so that all of your brilliant new Stevetony content is staggered for people to enjoy!

Before picking your date preferences, please make sure you have discussed this with your partner(s). If you have multiple partners (if a work was double claimed), you are required to have all the work posted on the same date by midnight, PST, so make sure the dates you pick will work for everyone on the team. Only one member from the team should claim a date; make sure you coordinate and figure out if there are any dates that absolutely will not work for you and your teammate(s), and be prepared in case you are unable to pick your initial choices.

Date claims will be done through a Doodle poll, which only needs to be filled out once per team. Please use your Team Name when picking dates; this was the writer's CODENAME during claims, and is given to you at the top of your Date Claims Information email.

Claims are made on a first-come first-serve basis, and each team is limited to one claim. Be prepared with alternatives in case you are unable to pick your initial choice, and make sure you communicate if there are any dates that absolutely will not work for you and your teammate(s). Only one person need claim on behalf of their team.

If you have any specific requests regarding your chosen dates, please let the mods know on the poll, or through email. Please note that we cannot guarantee to accommodate all special requests, and will address them on a first come, first served basis.

2019 Cap-IM BB Date Claims are closed

The link will be provided here and through our usual social media channels, so please check back again next week to claim your date! Remember, you must choose your dates within that 48 hour period, otherwise you will be assigned a posting date by the mods. If you or your partner(s) are unavailable during that time, you may use a proxy or contact the mods for help.

On October 28th, teams will receive an email with their scheduled date and additional information regarding their deadline. A calendar of all teams and their posting dates will be provided once all the posting dates are scheduled.

WHAT TO DO ON YOUR POSTING DATE

On your scheduled posting date, your team is responsible for uploading your story and artwork(s) individually, then having one member of the team make a masterpost on the Dreamwidth community. Be sure to read the posting instructions that will go up on the [community profile] c_im_bigbang DW and be emailed to you after date claims have happened.

All posts must be made before midnight, Pacific Standard Time on your posting date.

Do not post your work early. If something comes up and you won't be able to upload your work on your posting date, you must contact the mods at cap.im.events@gmail.com as soon as possible and we can make arrangements.

It's time for you to decide on posting date! Date claims will run differently from last year's challenge. Inspired by other fandom Big Bangs, we request that all teams choose multiple preferred posting dates and the schedule will be created based on each team's selection. This way, we can accommodate everyone's scheduling requirements.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

By claiming a posting date, you are committing to having your work complete and ready for posting by the date you have picked; this counts as your check in for the BB. If your team does not claim a date by October 29th, 19:00 UTC, we'll assume your team can reasonably post on any date, and will assign your team to a date accordingly.

Please use your Team Name when picking dates; all teams are required to select exactly 3 dates for when they will be available to post their Big Bang works. Each available date will have a maximum of three slots, meaning only three teams will be able to select it. Each team will only be scheduled for one posting date by the mods.

Your posting date will be determined by which dates you have chosen and where you are on the queue. By default, your posting date will be scheduled for the latest date you have chosen on the Doodle poll, but if you have a different preference, please make a comment on the poll itself, leave a comment on this post, or contact the mods at cap.im.events@gmail.com.

(In the image example above, Team Cap will be scheduled for November 13th and Team Iron Man will scheduled for November 14th, the latest dates they have chosen. Team Nomad will be scheduled for November 9th, their top choice. Team Extremis' request cannot be accommodated because each posting date is limited to one team, so they will be scheduled for November 11th, their top choice.)

If you have any specific requests regarding your chosen dates, please let the mods know on the poll, as a comment to this post, or through email. For example, if you are participating more than once in this year's challenge, you can request to have your posting dates for both teams within the same week, as far apart as possible, etc. If there is a range of dates for which you'd be available to post beyond the three dates you have chosen, you may also let us know through the comments. Please note that we cannot guarantee to accommodate all special requests, and will address them on a first come, first served basis.

The Doodle poll will be available on October 28th at 19:00 UTC (what time is that for me?) until October 29th at 19:00 UTC. Date claims are now closed.

Remember, you must choose your dates within that 24 hour period, otherwise you will be assigned a posting date by the mods. If you or your partner(s) are unavailable during that time, you may use a proxy or contact the mods for help.

On October 30th, teams will receive an email with their scheduled date and additional information regarding their deadline. A calendar of all teams and their posting dates will be provided once all the posting dates are scheduled.

You can sign up here.

Claims can be chosen via Doodle (a scheduling poll website) on a first-come-first-served basis. Each date is available for two posting teams, based on the
Artist’s Team Name (remember to only choose one date for each team). The dates available will be April 30th - May 31st. IF YOU NEED AN EXTENSION: If you are unable to claim a posting date that works for your schedule, or if you know that you will need some extra time to finish your work for the challenge, please let us know ASAP so that we can discuss extension possibilities. For a creator to receive an extension we will need to receive a draft of the work and an estimate about how much remains to be finished. If a team consists of an artist and two authors and only one author needs an extension, that author can get an individual extension. If an artist needs an extension, we would ask that authors wait until that extension date to post. Extensions will be available throughout May and into June. For a creator to receive an extension we will need to receive a draft of the work and an estimate about how much remains to be finished. Extensions will be available throughout May and into June. All works completed and posted before June 15th will be included in the official round-up post. If a creator fails to post a finished work by June 15th their new deadline will become the Big Bang Draft Submission date. If they do not complete their work by that date they will not be eligible to participate in the Big Bang, or future collaboration-based Cap-Iron Man challenges, until either the work (or equivalent gift-work) is completed or a full calendar year has passed.

We’re looking forward to seeing the results of all your hard work these last few months!

Regarding Upcoming Date Claims

We have been getting questions about posting dates for the Big Bang, so just to reassure everyone:

There will be a post up this Saturday, 31st October, where you can pick a date. One date per team, so coordinate who does the claiming. (Even if you were assigned two artists all three of you post on the same day. Only one date needs to be claimed.)

The post will have all instructions needed. Post is expected to go up on 21:00 (UTC time). (When is that for me?)

Posting Instructions

Posting begins November 5th! It's time to go over instructions for how the posting will work.

Have your completed fic and art formatted and ready to post by your selected posting date.

Each participating writer and artist will upload their own fic/art individually. For long term accessibility reasons we require the finished fic be hosted on AO3 (probably the most convenient) or LJ/DW. Do not use tumblr as your primary fic hosting site. For art, we prefer one of the usual image hosting sites (deviantart, flickr, photobucket, private server, etc) but tumblr is allowed if a direct link to the image file is provided in the community masterpost as well.

If you need to make an AO3 account, please request an invite here and keep in mind that it might take a few days for you to get it and be able to create the account. If you run into trouble, contact us, asap! Be sure to add your works to the 2015 Captain America/Iron Man Big Bang collection if you are using AO3.

On your chosen posting day, ONE member from your team is required to make a masterpost to the main comm here on livjournal using the following form:

In case that none of your team members have a Livejournal account, you can either very easily set one up and make your master post OR you can contact the Big Bang mod team before your posting date, send them the required information and one of us will make the post on your behalf using the [livejournal.com profile] cap_ironman_fe account.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please let us know!

Your mods,
