2021 Cap-IM Reverse Bang Guidelines for Podficcers & Writers

Guidelines for Podficcers & Writers
- Remember to read through our General Event Policies and Guidelines for All Participants, as well as the writers' guidelines outlined below.
- You will be writing a companion fic or creating a companion podfic to accompany your assigned artist's artwork(s), and this must be newly created and based on your own work (i.e. a podfic of someone else's work cannot be read, and a story cannot be a remix of someone else's fic).
- Your work must be a self-contained work created specifically and exclusively for the Reverse Bang based on or inspired by the artwork that you claim.
- You can sign up alone or as part of a team, whether that's two writers collabing, or one person writing and one recording the podfic, or another kind of team-up (the minimum word count remains the same).
- Completed Reverse Bang stories must be a minimum of 5,000 words.
- Completed Reverse Bang stories with accompanying podfics must be a minimum of 2,500 words.
- There is no upper word limit, but your work must be complete at the time of posting.
- By claiming an artwork you are commiting to finishing by your posting date.
Claiming Process
To participate in the 2021 Cap-Iron Man Reverse Bang as a writer or podficcer, all you need to do is claim an artwork on Saturday, February 13th. There is no prior sign-up available or required.
If you would like to create in a language other than English, you must claim artwork where the artist has stated that they are happy to receive an accompanying work in that language.
- Claims will be done on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- In case you can't make a claim personally on Saturday, February 13th, you are allowed to ask someone to make a claim on your behalf (a proxy claim). There is no need to have a Dreamwidth or OpenID account to make a claim or proxy claim for someone, as anonymous commenting will be enabled.
- Artworks are posted anonymously. You must claim artwork based solely on the submission and details provided.
- Instructions on how to claim artwork will go up with the preview of art entries on February 11th.
- Because this is a collaborative event, there is no penalty free dropping out once you've claimed a work. Dropping out once you've been partnered up will be considered defaulting on the challenge and will result in a temporary ban.
Creation Period and Posting
Once you have claimed a piece of art and you've been teamed up with your artist, all that's left is to create your RBB fanwork! Please remember to keep in touch with your partner(s) and keep track of time as you write. The posting period begins in May, and mods will be in touch before then with instructions on how to claim a posting date and post your work.
Each participating creator is responsible for posting their work on their scheduled posting day by noon Eastern Standard Time. A challenge-fulfilling work must be posted all at once, and it should be complete as a stand-alone. We require you to link to your partner's work when your team has posted.
On your chosen posting day, ONE member from your entire team is required to send through your team's links and posting information by filling out the Masterpost Information Form.
