Aaaaand We're Off!

Artist sign ups are now closed.

If you didn't receive a receipt for your sign up, please check your spam boxes, e-mail again, or comment here. I don't want to have missed anyone. I've fished at least one sign up out of my own spam filter.

The due date for draft art is 11:59pm (PST) 19 February. Feel free to drop out at any time (or just don't submit by such time, and I'll assume you have).

When you submit, please include a mention of what universe or universes you'd like to see your story written in, such as "616," "3490" or "Movie or Ultimates." "Any" is a completely viable answer, but please note that that means your author is free to write in Marvel Zombies or the dreaded Manga Verse if they so wish (of course, the chances of anyone wanting to write in Manga Verse are low, but one never knows).

As with sign ups, I'll be e-mailing back receipts for art submissions. If you don't get one within a few days, check in here. I don't want to miss anyone!

I'm really excited about how many people signed up. It's especially gratifying to see so many new people. I hope you all feel inspired and enjoy the challenge.

Beta Post

Warning: As betas are often the first people to get to see a new story or piece of art, it may cause smugness and general anticipatory glee that will deeply irritate their flists. This has generally been seen to take place between when the beta lays hands on a new fan work, and the posting date.

Beta reading longer pieces can be a lot of work, but there's something incredibly satisfying about helping a work take shape as plot holes fill, the dialogue starts to sound like canon, and the writing smooths out.

If you're interested in beta work, but haven't done it before, check out [livejournal.com profile] tsukinofaerii's On Writing Fanfic: Love Your Beta post.

Seem like something you'd like to try, sign up here with your username, how you'd like to be contacted (IM, e-mail, PM, pigeon post), the universes you know canon for, squicks you don't want to read, and what you're interested in beta work for (artists, authors or both).
